Step On a Crack...
As a child did you jump cracks in the sidewalks so you would not break your mother's back? I did. Carla has a lab in her book that has to do with drawing from photos of sidewalk cracks. I was not going to do this lab because to tell you the truth, I hardly ever come in contact with a sidewalk. I walk in dirt, and over rocks and buffalo grass but don't really spend time in a town or the village where there are sidewalks. However, last week I went with my friend to an art exhibit and as we was walking into the museum, I noticed side walk cracks! Alas, no camera, so I did the next best thing. I used the backs of the printed art show catalogue to make rubbings of the cracks with the only available pencil I had in my purse, which was a mechanical pencil with very thin lead. But, these rubbings allowed me to play with the lab. Here are my two rubbings results:
