I know, my blog is supposed to be a place to show and talk about my art but I just had to share this!
He/she decided to have lunch as he perched on the cast iron lid handle. Lunch is a little bird.
I managed to zoom in on him through my living room windows. Earlier he was closer as he perched on the back of a wrought iron rocking chair back, but I missed the shot.
He/she picked the feathers off the bird almost one at a time and you could see them floating slowly down into the snow. He also took a nice big bite, pulling at the flesh to break it free from the body. I know this sounds gorey, but it is a natural thing. We love watching the birds of prey here. We have had two of these hawks, a falcon, and a larger breed here the last month or two. I was so amazed to get such a good shot with my little point and shoot camera!

Beautiful! I love hawks. There's always a few circling the fields as I'm driving to work. I've named them all Horus. LOL I love searching for them during my drives.
Part of the cycle of life! Amazing, beautiful birds!
