I am working on a special project so have been doing lots of collages for this project... examples of things you can do with paper.  I will be showing some of these here and there.  This is collage example #1.

Hawk Pictures

In case you don't already know, I live in an awesome environment, with beautiful views and lots of special visitors.  Today, I am sharing a photo I took out my window of a red tail hawk.  We had three of them plus two magpies, doing an arial show for us last Sun.  This one landed in one of our trees for a rest.  They are so awesome to watch them play on the air streams!  Love the visitors!  Sigh!

I have no idea why I made this page.  Or why it turned out like this.  Perhaps one day I will have an epiphany and know these things.  Until then.... sigh.

Layers For Linen Painting

If you saw this post http://.swallowcliffs.blogspot.com/2009/07/old-linens.html then you will see what I have added to it.  I started with a layer of padding, then sewed the main lines in the painting.  Then layered that onto another piece of fabric,  which is frayed around the edges but a has a lovely texture and a very nice color.  Then I added pieces of found old lace, one piece was orginally a basket but when the sides were separated, what you see on the painting is what it became.  I like the layers, and the elements together!

I had a lovely vacation camping in the mountains.  It was so cold up there in the higher elevations among the pines.  We saw a few deer, but the most amazing was the sightings of mountain goats on the cliffs above our camp for two days.  Very interesting animals!  I enjoyed the relaxing life with my family away from everything, including clocks!  I hated to have to come back.

Another Yardsale Find

This is a hand bound phone book.  The cover is layered leafs.  It is beautiful.  No writing in it.  And I got it for 50 cents.  The binding is very nicely done.  Love this. Sigh.

WTJ pages

Here are a couple of WTJ journal pages.  One was to make a map, and the other to Make It Up As I Go Along. Collages are just too much fun!  Sigh!

Do you remember when I posted a page of swallows?

I was just playing with a stamp I made from some foam tape I pilfered from my hubby's garage.

They are now usable to decorate mail.  I love it when a just playing around activity turns into something usable.    I added some black ink outlines, stamping, and some gold pen highlights. And of course, don't I just love that it is swallows!  SIGH!

We Have Lost Our Marbles!

LOL... Over in 14 Secrets, a group of us have lost our marbles.  So, we decided we should all search for each others marbles.  We are all making a marble bag, which we will systematically send to the other players, who will add a marble and tell us where they found our marble and eventually, our bags will return to us with marbles all found.  Should be entertaining and fun, don't you think?  This is the marble bag I made.  It is attached to a small portfolio full of little ATC sized cards for the players to sign and draw maps and explain where they found my marbles.  This swap makes me laugh!

ATC Swap

Over in 14 Secrets there is an ongoing swap of ABC ATCs.  The first one... A Is For ART.  You may have seen my original cards in an earlier post.  These are the lovely cards I received from some very talented artists.

More STamps

I had so much fun making the stamps, so last night I grabbed my "gel" pens and made some more... you know how I like to play while not watching TV, lol.  I think I am addicted to these.  What is kool is that I just run them through a little machine I bought at a yard sale I think maybe two summers ago... and they come out with a backing you can peel off and they are sticky.  I had no idea what I was buying when I bought the little machine, but just knew I would find a use for it someday!  Woo Hoo, I am loving this!  I think I am going to try to give them a water color wash, just to make them zing!

Mail Art Stamps Swap

Over in 14 Secrets, we are doing a "stamp" swap, 20 for 20!.  This is such a fun activity.  And the stamps are on sticker paper so you can just peel and stick them on your art mail, just for fun!  I am going to make some more of these!

Garden Delights

Can you see Mr. and Mrs. Toady?

The tomato shots were taken after dark.  I am so amazed that they even turned out!  There was also a toady there on the edge of the walk, but, I guess he ducked behind a leaf or something!
